Hello, and welcome to Big Fresh Media & PR.
We love helping people, artists, events and businesses of all shapes and sizes to grow, succeed, and be the best that they can possibly be.
A trained reporter with a strong 20-year track record of Media & PR success, Rob O’Connor has worked on major London PR accounts including Heathrow Airport, and has also played a significant role in Teesside’s cultural and business economy.
And there’s been lots to shout about in the last few years, promoting a dazzling mix of household names, high-profile events and small independent enterprises – all of them treated with equal respect and TLC.
Working with the fab team at Ten Feet Tall, we created managed and led the local & regional media strategy for literally 100’s of incredible Teesside comedy adventures, with a string of household names including Frankie Boyle, Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans, Jimmy Carr, John Bishop, Sarah Millican, Kevin Bridges, Jason Manford, Alan Carr and bags more besides.
We also created and managed a simple Media & PR strategy to help establish both Saltburn Farmers’ Market and Saltburn Food Festival as two of the most popular foodie events in the country.
But there comes a time for something new, and the good news is that we’re now opening our doors to new clients far and wide. We hope you enjoy skipping through the rest of our website, seeing the services we offer and reading the fab testimonials from some current and previous clients – and feel free to give us a nudge if you’d like any further info.
Drop us a quick email or give us a call, let’s say hello, and let’s see how we can give you and your business the attention you deserve. We look forward to speaking with you soon.
“Dedicated doesn’t even begin to describe this man! For more than ten years now Rob has helped us promote projects including our comedy and music programmes. In fact, more than that, his efforts have helped shape and define what we do, and he has been a big part of the successes that we have enjoyed. He’s passionate, thorough, warm, friendly, enthusiastic, reliable, creative, accurate, and an out-and-out grafter. I could go on, but hopefully you’re starting to get the picture…”
“Rob has worked with me over the last ten years and has been absolutely incredible. He has ensured that Saltburn Farmers Market and Saltburn Food Festival have had consistently positive media attention, with the Sunday Times highlighting the Food Festival as a reason it chose Saltburn as ‘one of the best places to live in the UK!’ The kind of attention money can't buy!”
“Rob is a very approachable PR who knows the local & regional media inside out. He has been invaluable in helping promote a lot of our major North-East comedy dates over the years, and I would not hesitate in recommending him.”
“I’ve worked with Rob on various comedy tours over the last decade and he has always been an excellent PR to work alongside. He approaches each tour/project with a bespoke, thoughtful approach, which works wonders.”
“When I was Business and Features Editor at The Gazette, Rob was an invaluable source of knowledge about the local entertainment and events scene. Great at working quickly and flexibly, and producing well written copy often against very tight deadlines, his friendly and reliable approach certainly made my job that little bit easier!”
“Rob O’Connor is one of the best PR’s I’ve worked with during 23 hectic years of organising arts and entertainment coverage for The Northern Echo. Rob represented a variety of North-East events and organisations and supplied accurate, incisive and interesting copy with a close eye on deadlines and the need for stories which supplied information of a high standard.”
